My MENAXLDS 08 Experience in Tunisia

This spring break, I wanted to challenge myself and do something different from the same old cruise on the Bahamas or just going to Cancun. I decided to push myself over to Tunisia for the annual MENAXLDS (Middle East and North Africa Leadership Development Seminar) 08 Conference. Spending ten years each in Tokyo and Chicago, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself in a different environment. Through this seven day conference, I engaged and worked together with Aisecers from around the world! This was such an eye opener for me since all these Aiesecers from completely different back grounds were united through the entity of Aiesec in one location of the world. I learned so much more about our organization and the impact it had not only for the Aiesecers but the actual changes that it was making on peoples lives all over the world. I was reassured of the potential that this great organization had and all the great opportunities it offers that the rest of the RSOs on campus don’t even compare to. The people from all around the world that I met and the conversations and experiences we shared together in Tunisia will stay with me for the rest of my life. Not only did I learn more about Aiesec but I also learned a whole lot about myself. I couldn’t have asked for anything more this Spring break (Who can say that they made friends from over 20 plus countries and traveled through three continents this spring break?!). This unforgettable experience still lives on inside me as I bring back the intensity and the vibes that I felt from the Aiesecers at the conference to Champaign! I look forward to attending another Leadership conference next year as I encourage the rest of the LC to do so as well!!Tunisian Night

thanks go for adding your thoughts on Tunisia. I know that right when I came back, I got bogged down with stuff left and right, that I hadn't had time to reflect and think about menaxlds. hmm perhaps its time for me to go from being bogged down to being blogged down! hah but great thoughts - you are always one to live up each experience.
